Heat Stress

Driving down the road is usually a great time to reflect for me, and being out and about the past few weeks I can say it has been pretty warm and my AC has been earning its keep. This scenario reminded me that in the heat of the summer, we are not the only ones feeling the burn as those wonderful rays of sunshine come down. I’ve always heard that if you are running the AC in your vehicle that most likely your cattle are feeling the same heat stress and unfortunately they cannot all fit in the cab of your truck—nor would you want them to. Check out this article for more information on signs of heat stress in feedlot cattle and this article for pasture cattle as well as some simple tips for managing that heat stress without buying a bigger truck to fit them all in!

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and give us a call to visit about how Two Rivers can help meet your herds’ nutritional needs.
